Shari Kastein Honored with Awards in Victim Services

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Shari Kastein, has been honored with the Award of Excellence in Victim Services and the John & Kay Egan Award for her exceptional work serving victims of crime in Iowa.  Both awards were presented on April 6th during the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Commemoration event in Des Moines, Iowa, where Shari was a guest speaker. The awards recognize individuals who exemplify commitment and exceptional service to crime victims in Iowa. At the Commemoration event, the Award of Excellence was presented by United States Attorneys’ Offices for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa of the U.S. Department of Justice.  The John and Kay Egan Award was presented by the Iowa Organization for Victim Assistance.  Both awards are an incredible achievement for Shari, our dedicated staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be the selected recipient of these awards this year,” shares Ms. Kastein.  “At Family Crisis Centers, our focus is centered on victims and how we can best serve them.  It drives the vision of our agency and motivates our staff and Board of Directors.  We are tasked with serving victims, and we strive to do that well.”

These awards come during a special year, as we will be celebrating our 35th year of serving victims of domestic violence and crime. We are incredibly proud to have such an outstanding leader guiding us every day – a big congratulations to Shari!
